I did some major retail therapy yesterday and realized break-ups can be good for one thing. I bought my very first size 24 pair of Seven jeans ever!!! I'm so excited. I know many people would wonder why the f* I care...and if you do, well just know that I'm a total girl about these things.
I had time to kill before meeting Mr. Analyst (the guy I met in NYC during my client's media dinner) and his friends frmo business school for drinks. We were meeting at the Westin on Market so I figured I'd go to Bloomie's since it was only a block away. Bad move. I spent way toooo much. But, maybe it was just what I needed.
Anyway, met up with Mr. Analyst and his buddy at the Westin bar, Ducca and had a couple of glasses of wine. Then, we went to Ozumo and had this amazing sushi dinner and sake. YUM!! We closed down the place talking....it was totally fun...and the best part was, I got out of there without spending a dime. When I glanced at the open bill (about $400), I thanked the lord that it wasn't my card going in there. :)
Tonight, I'm headed out with Mr. English boy for dinner but can't stay out late. I have a race in the morning and have to be up early and ready to run...
Tomorrow is also sailing day..we'll see how it all pans out.
This weekend was quite possibly the best weekend ever. It officially started Thursday night because my favorite cousin (more like sister) was in town from Chicago with her new man. I had a soccer game so invited them all to come over and drink wine with me at my place in my stinky soccer clothes. We drank too much but had a blast laughing and talking. Friday night, Mr. Lawyer and I went to Naked Fish for sushi and sake and then met up with my cousin, A and her man, N (also a lawyer type) at Mauna Loa. Friday night we drank too much (again) and passed out after some hot sex.
On Saturday, we decided to head out to my parent's house for Easter. It took us awhile to get there because we had to stop for lunch, a car wash, and then we hit traffic. We made it just in time for dinner with my parents, their friends and my best friend J. We drank (surprise, surprise) a shit ton of wine - all really good wine - and then my mom busted out the karaoke machine. And I'm thinking, if Mr. Lawyer must truly like me to put up with my crazy ass family. We were all hammered and karaoked until almost 2 am!! I couldn' t believe it. Mr. Lawyer and I passed out on the couch at some point and I woke up early in the morning (still in my dress) and moved us into the bedroom. We were all hurting Sunday morning and made our way over to my aunt's house for Easter brunch. We had a lot of food, mimosas, and family time. Mr. Lawyer was itching to get back to the house to watch his basketball game as my aunt just moved and has no cable, Internet, or anything else yet. We went back to my parent's house and me, cousin A and J decided to lay out by the pool - thank god for the sunshine!! Mr. Lawyer came out and joined us after awhile and everything just felt amazing....I was with my two favorite girls and my really hot and awesome guy.
We drove home last night late - he drove the whole way and carried all of our things up to the apartment. He let me sleep and then woke me up this morning as he was heading to work early and kissed me on the forehead and said nice things. I couldn't be in a better mood today. :)
On my way into the office I talked with cousin A. Her ex really wants her back and she had to break up with him again this morning. I know she's hurt but I also know she did the right thing. She doesn't want to be with him, is dating someone new and he really needed to know that. She told him that she was dating someone - but not who. She sounded so upset. but like I told her, better that he knows so he can move on.
Last night, I rushed home from work, went to the gym and then headed out for a night out with the ladies. We started with dinner at Ace Wasabi's and it was just like old times (AKA college) only more grown up. Instead of the cheapest sake on the menu, we tried something with a citrus essence (haha) and ordered the sushi we wanted rather than the cheapest thing on the menu. And what was the most grown up is that we were talking about my girl friend's wedding plans everything from the colors, the bar situation, hotels, etc. Weddings! Us! Unbelievable....
After dinner, we headed out for some drinks.
First stop was Balboa Cafe - for a Wednesday night, it was popping. From the minute we walked in, the vultures were all eyes. The guys just stared and stared and stared but didn't have the balls to come talk to us - well, unless you count the couple skeezy ones that made their way over. We laughed and talked about guys, claimed the hot ones in the bar and then after a few drinks decided to dance. We walked to Hi-Fi but it was DEAD so then back up the hill to Mauna Loa. Perfect. Good Crowd. We got some guys to play our songs on the juke box (AKA Britney and Tupac) and then played the longest game of pool ever. Literally, we were all so bad, we only sunk balls on accident. Haha.
At some point, Mr. Lawyer to Be called. I hung up on him because it was too loud and I couldn't hear. He texted. I texted something ridiculous back - to the equivalent of "Night, Hot Stuff!" What? Are you kidding me? I'm so retarded sometimes...
After a few more drinks, we decided it was time to trek home. One of my bestest spent the night. We ate chips in bed and watched "Sex & the City" till we passed out (it was one of those nights).
This morning, I felt really happy. I love my friends. I'd rather hang out with them any day over some dude. Its a miracle what a night out with the girls can do. I'm happy today eventhough I got my first traffic violation this morning - illegal left turn - oops. Shit.
I think I will stay in tonight. I know, its Thursday and all but I literally have no clean clothes and need a couple cute outfits for the weekend...:) Getting my hair cut tomorrow too - HOORAY!
